To reset a locked out Eberspacher D5LC (may work on other models) all you need to do I short out two wires. You do not need to buy a 701 or 801 controller or take it to a dealer.

25 1688 50 00 / 12V and 25 1689 50 00 / 24V in versions R0,R1,R2,R3,R4 are confirmed to work. Although you need to short the wires for longer time on the R3 and R4 models of ECU. Up to 5 seconds for the R3,R4 and up to 2 seconds for the R0,R1,R2.

To do this try to start the unit as normal. This will not work as its locked out however you will get an illuminated Green LED in the middle of the dial.

With the Green LED illuminated short out the two pins as per the diagram below. Do not remove the wires just short them out where they are.

The heater should immediately start up if the duration of short is long enough. Mine took 3 seconds maybe as its an R4

Remove the short as soon as the heater starts up

The green light may blink the last error code whilst the heater is running

Let the heater run for a good few minutes and then allow it to shut down as normal by turning the control knob to off position

Allow it to fully cool down and shutdown

Power cycle the heater and then attempt a fresh restart. The green light should be steady with no blink codes and it should now be unlocked.

The symptoms of a lockout for me was upon turning on the heater the fan didn't blow and the unit did not start. The green LED was steady indicating no fault codes and no matter what I did it would not go into start-up procedure. This seems typical of a lock-out. All I did was have a low fuel tank and this locked it out.

	Hi all

Firstly, apologies for this post, but I have to ask people better suited than I.

Cutting a long story short, I've been offered two ex-MOD 110's. One is a 1994 with a N/A diesel covered about 90k miles, and one is a 1986 with a Defender 200Tdi with about 15k miles (yes 15k), but the engine is clearly a later addition as they certainly wouldn't have had that in 1986, so unsure of the engine mileage.

So, what are they worth to buy? Neither has an MOT, but full log books are there. I've been told £10k each, and I think that's way too much, but I'm not into military stuff so I don't know.

	Cheers.

Morning gents, I have an interesting, if somewhat neglected, vehicle at the Workshop at the moment. A military 110 with a NAD, mated to an R380 and with an MA VIN. That would make it 1995, which would explain the R380 but not the NAD! I checked the VIN, and both the engine and gearbox codes are consistent. I had no idea the NAD was used until 1995! I haven't had a chance to have a proper talk with the owner to learn about its history yet. Which is why I'm starting a topic here, hoping some of you can shed some light. I first thought is was an engine swap, be it a very unusual one. But all seems standard?

The car arrived on a recovery truck, diagnosed with clutch problems. Much to my surprise, the clutch pedal was working, I could select any gear with the engine running, without grinding. So not the usual leaking slave and/or master. There was a lot of clutch slip though. I could move it about in low (just), but in high not so much. It will just sit in 3rd or higher, no noises but no movement either. I took out the clutch today, but to my surprise the clutch plate isn't that worn. There are some signs of overheating and glazing on both the plate and cover, so I'm guessing it got cooked. I'll make sure to check the clutch is fully engaged with the pedal out, and nothing is sticking. I want to take a look at the transfer case as well (if the customer will let me) as I don't think the center diff lock is working.

Having renewed the clutch slave cylinder I was replacing the pushrod and a new clip when unfortunately it fell into the bell housing, is this likely to cause a problem with say the starting ring gear or obstruct anything in the bell housing or is it a gearbox out job to remove it?
Any advice will be much appreciated.

Hi, we are having a tidy up and have an old trailer that we want to dispose of. There is a plate with possible details on but its been painted over. Google searches on number plates tells me it could be a 1975/1976 army trailer. Its quite rotten in places so not sure if it has any value for restoration or whether its too far gone. Tyres have since pumped up and held but one wheel/brakes are stuck. Any advice or ideas of value, if any, would be great. Thanks in advance for your help.

I can't quite figure out where the brackets (No 2 on the pic) go, or how. Can anyone please share a pic of it fitted?

Plan is to revert her back to military spec or as close as practical, lots of TLC where the previous owner has abused, I've applied for the vehicle service record from the RLCM be interested to see where she's been, tips tricks and suggestions always welcome... presently just trying to get her started... wish it was a diesel...

I've managed to obtain some new replacement discs to fit to the trailer, but they need machining from the original Ford fitment for use on the trailer.

Unfortunately I have come across a problem here in Holland, I can not find a small engineering firm, or any firm, who is willing to turn the centre out and drill 5 holes to be able to fit the hubs.

After 2 weeks of searching, I've lucked out and found on the X-MOD website a pair of machined discs and got them sent to me here in Holland.

Now I have a set of perfectly suitable discs that need machining, does anyone know anybody in the EU, preferably Holland, who is up for the task?

Failing that, when I'm next back in Blighty, I can either find someone who can do the machining or sell them on, hopefully they'll have better luck.

lots of questions...

is it a class 4 MOT? Whats its GVW?

Does the 24v cause issues. Can i get rid of it?

Can I insure it at a normal place?

anything thats a RPITA to carry on using one?

I think getting it registered is pretty easy once I got the MOT. Similar to when we brought Matilda home after the trip. So other than the insurance and MOT are there any "living with one" issues.

e.g. are the spares pretty much the same? I presume normal 130 springs and shocks and general consumables like hub bearings and stuff.

Thanks

I have a 1995 110 ex-Mod that went through the Tithonus project. I have the fiberglass hardtop and military roll bar but wanting to swap the hardtop for the Exmoor pvc wolf soft top. I realize there are some bits needed for the conversion and had a conversation with John at Exmoor about it, he said I'd need their Td5 header rail as well as the "wolf over door drain channels" as well as "side door drain channels". These aren't Exmopor parts, nor did he have a LR part number. I was hoping someone here might know where I can find them and what the part numbers are?

I'm also open to other options to making the conversion from hard top to soft top work.

	Thanks!

	Hi,

Just to be sure. Does anybody (Dutch) know what the next two lights are:

	- standlampen (voorkant)
- kruislicht

If anybody interested, I'm rebuilding the wire scheme with all the original colours and switches drawn into it. GIves me more insights (yes, I'm a novice).

I have a 1987 110 ex-MOD with a 2.5 NA diesel. I have both the MOD parts catalog and the 1986 110 full line parts catalog. From these, it appears that the part numbers of the appropriate bits are: pulley - ERC6860; damper - ETC4105; flinger - ETC4390. I think I can also derive that the pulley/damper assembly in this military truck is the same as that used in the civilian truck fitted with AC, so I can use the civilian assembly part number 554971 (from the John Craddock catalog). I think that's all straight forward.

The uncertainty is the flinger. Is it best practice to fit a new one on the damper hub, or try to use the one in place now. It seems pressed on, and I'm afraid that removal will expand the bore and render it unusable. While I type this it occurs to me that it is quite a silly question. The flinger is available and not expensive so the prudent course of action is to get a new one. But just for my enlightenment, is this really designed for a one-time use?

Also any comments on my part number conclusions will be appreciated.

	Thanks.
