gbmoto Posted November 8, 2021 Posted November 8, 2021 (edited) Hi All 12j is now gone, I was going to swop in a 3.5 carb engine from a 110 but an already swopped 3.9 90 cropped up locally. It has been very well done, but there are a few bits I want to sort. No real evidence but apparently the engine has ported heads, tubular manifolds ( def, I can see those ) and an unknow lumpy cam, it ticks over like a dragster so maybe a bit too lumpy! It is quick! But maybe not as smooth as it could be. think more comp safari rather than trials! Anyway, this weekend the boy racer pipe with one silencer is going, to be replaced by standard. I also want to get rid of the K&N, replacing it with a RR air box in the same rough position as a 50th anniversary/NAS 90 I have the airbox, just need to tweak it a little to make it horizontal. But does anyone have pictures of the bracket that bolts to the firewall? I have found one very bad piccy on line but didn't really help. One in position on the bulkhead without the air box on would be great 😃 I don't want much do I! Once these 2 bits are done will see how the smoothness is. Then I need to keep the cooling water inside the engine 😆 This will become a saga! But I still have the rather nice 3.5engine in the garage................. Edited November 8, 2021 by gbmoto Quote
gbmoto Posted May 21, 2022 Author Posted May 21, 2022 Well finally sorted this, a big alloy plate bolted to the engine lift bolts. Runs a lot more pleasantly...and quieter. I know, lots of wiring to tidy 😄 Quote
