My nice new water temperature gauge from SPA_UK

www.SPA_UK.co.uk

The warning light in tha gauge comes on when the temperature reachest 105 dec C

The LED warning light to the left of the rev counter is to tell me that the radiator fan has come on!!!

did u deliberately bolt it in wonkey?

I take it MMG has done it so the normal-running needle position will be at the 12 O'Clock position

I normally set my gauges so that the needly is at 12 O'clock. That way you KNOW that the needle has moved. No need for a position pointer.

I thought that but wouldn't the "park brake" lamp be lit?

The park brake light is on.

Vehicle stationary ticking over at 600/700rpm.

Engine still cold as it's just been started.

You can't see the park brake light brecause it's hidden by the steering wheel center. It's to the left of that warning light and on the bottom row of warning lights.

The written 'PARK BRAKE' light isn't used/connected on UK vehicles it's for Australian market vehicles, but mines connected to the other one thats lower down.

So you do 60mph and 3000rpm then ;)

Good racers practice.

By that standard, on an LR you should adjust the petrol gauge so that it's at 12 o'clock on the red, "Normal Position":(

Excellent, thanks :D

this is how mine is connected

I used this one genuine LR AMR5724 as fitted to V8 50th & heritage Defenders connected thus

----------------rev counter terminals marked 2 ---> 'W' terminal on 100amp Marelli alternator

+ve ---> ignition controlled feed

-ve ---> to earth/ground [any earth cable behind instrument pack]

gauge lighting to existing gauges lighting = red/white tracer

set 3 slide switches -- I adjusted the slides 1 & 3 up with 2 down, to give approx 4000rpm max & 800rpm at idle

:D :D

Mine cae from Croytech, they're at the shows etc. IIRC it was £55 so cheaper than Lowtension. Same part, VDO gauge etc. When you connect it, don't try to get a signal out of the alternator mounting bolt!
